When a penguin squawked in his face, the spirit of an entrepreneurial generation yelped in fear and looked around, clearly freaked out. He sat up and tried to process what was happening, eyes wide as he realised that the voice he was hearing came from a man who, frankly, looked completely unhinged. The surroundings didn't help whatsoever, even less so just how worn the article that was being read to him looked.
He swallowed, his mind trying to reason his way through the threat of panic. None of this made much sense. He was in the sewer. There were penguins. There was a man who looked disturbingly like a penguin talking to him. Honestly, the more information he gathered, the more it freaked him out, so he decided to focus on the conversation.
"...it's not that enviable. Comes with downsides." Such as this, for example. Insane sewer dwellers kidnapping him, that was a major downside.
"You seem unsettled. Don't be. Relax, no one wants to hurt you." Penguin assured him and then paused, smiling as he cocked his head to the side. "Yet." As long as he wasn't mean or rude, he had a good chance of living. Somewhat. He looked at his penguin brethrens and then back to Edward. "They won't hurt you. They're just interested. They don't often get to see people alive down here."
Oswald pulled himself up from his rickety old chair and limped his way towards Edward, coming to stand in front of him. He was a small, sickly looking man. Pale, red rimmed eyes and, yeah, he had a penguin look about him. Right down to the suit he was wearing.
"Entrepreneur, genius, playboy. I have high hopes for you. I assume you're a smart man, yes?" The Penguin smiled and as he did, something black oozed from between his teeth and dribbled down him.
