"Whatever you want. I usually call him idiot. Or moron. Or imbecile. Or wannabe." Edward wasn't sure how helpful that was to her, but hey. He was offering variety. he finished fixing the attachment to the pasta machine, then he picked her up and carried her over to the sofa in the living room, letting himself fall down on it with her. "Time to fix up your hair, princess."
He looked at her with a smile, bopping her nose. He was looking forward to properly caring for her hair. "You can call me dad. If you want to. Eddie is all right too. It's all new, isn't it? Take your time."
Stephanie giggled as she climbed onto Edward, grinning as he bopped her nose and bopped his back. "You're silly!" She liked that about him, totally different from her dad. No hitting, no yelling, no scary closet. Only Edward, helping her with her hair, owning robots and making fun pasta. She grinning as she turned around, letting Edward get a good look at her hair.
"I think you are a nice dad. You're like a dad from a book. A nice book. Like the one I have about mice." So already, Edward was nailing it - he was a mouse dad.
"A book about mice, yes? That does sound fascinating." Well, at least someone was convinced of his parenting talent. He was really not too sure himself, but he hadn't really seen any better way to handle this. How could he trust someone else with his daughter, after she had already been mistreated like this?
He used a conditioner spray now to make her hair easier to brush, slowly making her hair as beautiful as it ought to be. "Tomorrow we can decide what you want your room to look like. We'll get you a desk... You need to start school some time, I guess."
There was a lot to figure out. For now, her hair, then food, then sleep. He could plan further later.
