Beneath everything, he had empathy and the ability to love. He cared for people and loved people - to be able to hurt them so badly? That was something that was worth considering.

It was hard to know what advise to give Edward, both pros and cons floated around his head but he did know that regardless of what he suggested, Edward would make up his own mind. Jonathan was merely his sounding board. He had to offer the opposing side.
