With anyone else, Edward would have called ahead or just texted to agree to meet up, but it was Jonathan. Odds were, he'd lost his phone under a pile of books and wouldn't find it again until three weeks from now, if he hadn't broken it already.
So, rather than doing that, he knocked on his door and waited, eyes on his watch. He had dressed down for this, no hat, no suit, but of course the leather jacket was green and he had a mask with him, just in case. Appearances were important, after all.
"Jonny? It's me. Come on, or I'll unlock from out here." He paused, then decided to sweeten the offer, if Jonathan was that reluctant to open the door. "I brought you the lunch special from that Soul Food place you like."
